Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was awarded a scholarship to study at London's Royal Academy of Music for three years. Lennox was able to live by surviving on a student stipend, while working part time jobs. Lennox did not feel satisfied with the level of her abilities compared to the other students at Royal Academy and began looking to find alternative routes. Lennox started out as musician in the band Dragons Playground. The band did not get to compete in the talent competition New Faces on I.T.V. From 1977 to 1980 she served as the singer-songwriter for The Tourists, a British Pop group. That was also where she came across Dave Stewart with whom she would form Pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox was then able to begin work on her first solo album Diva, which was released in 1992. The album garnered a lot of praise from the press and critics. Nostalgia Lennox's sixth solo album was released in November 2014. The C.D. Lennox chose her favorite blues and soul from the time of her childhood. In addition in May 2019 Lennox has released Lepidoptera an album of four improvised piano tracks. The E.P. The album is a companion to her album Now I Let you go... artwork, which was displayed at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. This is also her first independent album. The Tourists had a minor popularity in the latter part of the 1970s. Lennox and Dave Stewart, a fellow musician, went on to achieve international fame in 1990s when they formed the Eurythmics. Lennox's debut album in 1992 Diva was a huge success, featuring a variety of songs like Why, and Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa an album from her studio, which was released in 1995, features versions of some of her biggest hits, such as The No MoreI I Still Love Yous (and The Whiter Shade of Pale).
